HFS FIELD TRIP!

Today HFS instructor Dan Cohen took his students on a field trip to the Champions Center of General Mills. Students were treated to a lecture by Matt Arbeiter, physical therapist and head of corporate wellness at General Mills.

Students got to experience a typical day in the life of a corporate wellness consultant, which can include opening the facility, stocking towels, assessing equipment, teaching classes, personal training clients, creating and enforcing policies, designing schedules and general club maintenance.

Students additionally got to see some of the equipment utilized for fitness assessments in the corporate populations.

Matt Arbeiter also discussed what makes TC Fit unique including some of the wellness specialties they offer employees and the level of service extended to all individuals. He additionally touched on some things that students may not consider when entering the field and questions they need to ask themselves throughout their education. Other topics like liability issues, legal questions, certifications and fitness specialties were also discussed.

Thank you Dan Cohen for arranging such a unique and exciting field trip for the HFS students!
